Ensuring our donations can be on sold is crucial to continuing the work we do providing opportunities for people living with disability.
Our call centre will ask a series of questions regarding your donation to ensure smooth collection and avoid costs associated with unsellable items. Some examples are below.
- Is the item safe, soiled, heavy or torn?
- Can your donation be broken into pieces for collection?
- Are you able to place the items in a carport or garage for collection? We have limited ability to collect from inside donor’s homes.
In 2019 Good Sammy collected 72% of home collection requests.
Our call centre operators will clarify in your original collection request call that while your contributions are valuable to us, our logistics team are authorised to make a final decision regarding collection. We ask for your understanding on this matter as the disposal of items unfit for sale creates a significant cost to Good Sammy each year.
